Sony is really having a hard time keeping stuff secret. After the full-blown Sony Cyber-shot QX10 and QX100 leak, the official press release and full details of Sony Xperia Z1 have appeared online.
Sony’s next flagship smartphone Xperia Z1 is going to be officially announced later today. As per the leaked press release, Sony Xperia Z1 will feature a 5-inch 1080p full HD TRILUMINOS display with X-Reality for Mobile and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, but it is not the important part. Xperia Z1 is the first Sony Android smartphone to pack a 20.7MP rear camera featuring Sony’s 27mm G Lens with F2.0 aperture, 1/2.3-type CMOS Exmor RS sensor and BIONZ mobile processing engine. There are a lot of technical terms and marketing blah-blah here but all this as per Sony will provide users with premium compact camera quality images.
The company has also included quite a few camera and imaging related software enhancements including Social Live (broadcast videos live to Facebook), Info-Eye (AR app to check information about buildings or other items in camera frame), Timeshift Burst, AR Effect
Among other specs, Sony Xperia Z1 is water-proof and dust-resistant and comes with 4G LTE support, 3000 mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card support (upto 64GB).
The smartphone runs on Android 4.2 and integrates the usual set of connectivity options as well as NFC, Glonass, and ANT+.
