Nissan Terrano variants and features listed

The ‘coming soon’ Terrano will be Nissan’s entry into the highly competitive compact crossover segment in India. The car was revealed on August 20 and bookings have already started taking place.

The Terrano will see three engines, one petrol and two diesel. The 1.6-litre petrol mill dishes out 104PS and 145Nm of torque. The diesel engine comes in two different tunes. The 1.5-litre oil burner delivers 85PS with 200Nm or 110PS and 248Nm. This is clearly in line with its stablemate Duster. The petrol and the lower powered diesel engines come with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the high powered diesel engine gets a 6-speed manual. Nissan has not provided an option of automatic transmission yet for the Terrano. The Terrano variants are listed as XE, XL, XL+, XV and XV Premium.
The base variant XE has a driver airbag, power windows for all four windows and a multi-information display. The XE will be powered by the 85PS diesel only. The XL has safety features like ABS with Brake Assist, EBD, a 2-DIN music system and fogl amps. XL trims will be available in both the diesel and petrol engines. The XL+ gets the 85PS diesel with added passenger airbags and 16” machined alloys. The XV and XV Premium get the 110PS diesel engine. The XV has added rear parking sensors, rear air con unit and leather wrappings, while then XV Premium gets leather seats and Zebra wood finishes. The petrol unit powers only the XL variant. Graphite Black, Pearl White, Blade Silver, Sterling Grey, Fire Red and Bronze Grey will be the colour options available on the Terrano.
Nissan will take on the likes of the EcoSport, Duster and Quanto with the Terrano. One can expect the pricing to be competitive, around Rs.8-12 lakh. The Terrano will land in the Indian markets by the end of September or early into October.
